Who We Are

Arshad Chaudhry is the Chairman and founder of the Asian Business Development Network, now known as ABDN. A dynamic professional with a passion for ICT, he is a director and senior consultant to the HCA Group of accountancy practices. He developed the HCA Group from humble beginnings 33 years ago to a regional practice. The Group is a multi skilled organisation specialising in tax mitigation strategies. It also includes FMP, a corporate finance company. Arshad was Group Internal Auditor for the Burton Group (now called Arcadia Plc). He is a director of the Partnership Investment Fund and has been on the boards of several institutions in the Region. Arshad helped setup CHEL, a flagship inner city regeneration company and was its Chair for a number of years. He has been a director of the Leeds Chamber, The Leeds TEC and a governor of the Leeds College of Technology. He is keen to develop international trading links and has recently led UKTI sponsored trade missions to India and Pakistan.

Arshad is in The Power 100 for Yorkshire & The Humber for the second year running as the 100 most influential and powerful people in the region.

Arshad was appointed non-executive director of Business Link Yorkshire on 1 October 2009.

Love and knowledge led upwards to the heavens,
But always pity brought me back to earth;
Cries of pain reverberated in my heart
Of children in famine, of victims tortured
And of old people left helpless.
I long to alleviate the evil, but I cannot,
And I too suffer.

This has been my life; I found it worth living.
